The design and layout of the Phase-II upgrade of the Inner Tracker of the ATLAS experiment

Abstract

I had the great opportunity to go to the EPS-HEP conference 2019 in Ghent and presented a poster on 'The design and layout of the Phase-II upgrade of the Inner Tracker of the ATLAS experiment' there. Due to the high radiation damage, track densities, etc. the current ATLAS Inner Detector (ID) will be replaced by an all-Silicon system called the Inner Tracker (ITk). The poster gave an overview of the current status of the ITk and performance expectations with respect to tracking. The conference was really fun, I met loads of interesting people and I was really able to broaden my Physics knowledge. It particularly made me aware of fascinating positron anomalies observed by the AMS experiment and the fun around muon colliders.
